7/28/04 Nantucket News from Capt. Lynne Heyer

The rain has come. Yup, it's raining this morning. The fishing has been pretty steady, and I thought I should give everyone an update.

Monday evening, Great Point went off. For three hours it was non-stop action--a classic bluefish blitz. I had a customer come in and fill us in yesterday. He said that he had never seen it like that. Pretty cool stuff.

I haven't heard too much about the bass fishing up there the last couple days.

I'm still hearing sporadic reports about Madequecham Valley with a mix of fish.

My best reports right now are from my captains on the Bonito Bar. Yesterday, Tyler Wick and his fiancee (forgive me, I don't remember her name) had a couple slams on the bar with Capt. Shawn. Capt. Jeff and Chris Yonker also had good luck on the bar with three bones and numerous blues. Ned Dane and Jeff got into the blues pretty well earlier in the day, but no stripers.

Try to stay dry today, and I will keep the fishing stories coming.
