9/6/04 Nantucket News from Capt. Lynne Heyer
The albies have arrived, and in pretty good numbers. Seems they are spread from Smith's Point to Great Point.
The bonito have vacated the West End, but I just got a report of a few at Great Point, off the beach and by boat. I don't know whether they will come back into Madaket. This dirty water and cool weather may just drive them away.
The bluefins have left the Bar too. With the east wind it's been pretty tough fishing the last few days.
I did get a pretty good report from Great Point yesterday that even the Spanish mackerel have made an appearance. A customer caught albies and Spanish macks up at the Galls. That is the best news from the Point in a while.
Guess that's it for now. The wind is supposed to go around to the southeast tomorrow. I have a tentative date with Captain Shawn and Captain Jeff for offshore tuna fishing. We will see.
