Penobscot River Salmon Count
As of October 4, 2004, 1,322 salmon went through the trap at the Veazie Dam on the Penobscot River, just above Bangor. There is increasing optimism, though no official word, that the Penobscot is inching towards a catch-and-release season for Atlantic Salmon. However, to date, there is no official word that the season will re-open for 2005.
